About the studio

Regular Rate and Rhythm Software was founded in 2008 by Evan D. Schoenberg, MD, a cornea, cataract, and refractive surgeon practicing in Atlanta, Georgia. The apps here were built to fix problems he actually has, in clinic and at home.

He also has a long history in open source, including many years as lead developer ofAdium, the free instant-messaging client for the Mac.

Why "Regular Rate & Rhythm"?

It's what a physician writes after listening to a healthy heart: everything working the way it should. Software should earn the same note.

The old site called this "gloriously benign" software — apps that solve problems and make your life easier "with panache, without ever getting in your way, and with a clear idea of their boundaries and scope." The short version:benign by design.
